A few years ago, Seventh Point chose United Way as their adopted charity. Seventh Point Staff donated time, created marketing materials, and supplied muscle to The Day of Caring; created a series of silly TV commercials suggesting good things happen when you give; as well as produced a number of other promotional materials for the yearly United Way Campaign.
President of Seventh Point’s Transportation Public Relations Division, Mike Carosi, is not only a graduate of Class 2011, but has served as a Board Member and major contributor to LEAD’s mission. Seventh Point has worked with LEAD to produce promotional materials, videos, and a sundry of support over the years. Angela Blackwell Carter, Executive Director of LEAD, is a dear friend of Seventh Point and a brilliant leader.
Nearly 4 million of them fought in World War II. And there are not many of them left – dying at the rate of almost 2000 a day. Honor Flight’s mission is to get as many of these veterans from “the greatest generation” to the monument built in their honor in D.C. Our local chapter conducts two trips per year – totally free to the veteran. And it’s a day of gratitude and showing appreciation for the sacrifices they made. In addition to creating fund raising materials for Honor Flight, it was particularly gratifying for many of us to serve as Guardians (assistants) on these trips.

The Life Enrichment Center (LEC) privides literacy tutoring and other learning programs for elementary schools across Hampton Roads. For the past three years, Seventh Point has assisted LEC with their marketing, fundraising and community engagement efforts by providing promotional materials, presentations and event support.
Seventh Point believes in and supports the mission of Samaritan House. As we became more and more familiar with both the depth and scope of this organization, as well as the fact that too many people in Hampton Roads don’t know how huge and far reaching this organization is, we felt our dedicated efforts might be well-placed to join in and help. Chris Calcagno serves as Chairman of 100Men, one of the Samaritan House fund raising arms.
President & CEO of Seventh Point, Chris Calcagno, is a graduate of CIVIC Leadership Class of 2015, and a big believer and supporter of their mission. Every year, CIVIC selects one of our community’s most philanthropic leaders for a prestigious award – The Darden Award – named for CIVIC’s founder Josh Darden. For a number of years, we produced the presentation video. These are a few of our best, including a video tribute to Josh himself.
For nearly 10 years Seventh Point put on “Santa Night” – and our Santa was as dedicated as Rudolph to his sleigh. Our Santa was a grandad to 10 of his own, so he certainly knew how to hold little one’s on his knee. The idea was to save moms and dads the hassle of standing in line at the mall for hours waiting to get one expensive photo. We had a professional photographer who shot a full round of photos for each child and family – all theirs to keep – all free to the family.
For the past five years, it has been our pleasure to create and supply promotional materials for CHDK’s 5K to raise money for the kids. The funds benefit life-saving research and treatments for the children in their care.
