Guest post: Help support team Seventh Point in local community project
On June 13, Seventh Point will be running in The King’s Daughters RunWalk for the Kids, an 8k to benefit the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters (CHKD). The team consists of Joe Delatte, Amiee Mellon, Angie Eddy, Staci Brophy, Jennifer O’Neal and Todd Collins, General Manager of Checkered Flag Hyundai Volkswagen.
CHKD is the only facility of its kind in Virginia, serving the medical and surgical needs of children throughout greater Hampton Roads, the Eastern Shore of Virginia and northeastern North Carolina. The not-for-profit hospital was founded in 1961 by the Norfolk City Union of The King’s Daughters. Today, CHKD provides care to approximately 250,000 children each year as inpatients and outpatients, addressing routine and complex illnesses, injuries and chronic conditions.
Even during difficult financial times, we have a lot to be thankful for here at Seventh Point—especially in comparison to parents with a seriously sick child. A lot of people have the mistaken notion that CHKD has all the money in the world, but much of its operation is funded by the generosity of local citizens and fund-raising events like this one.
As a team, Seventh Point is trying to raise some funds. It would be great to help out the representative runners for one of our community’s most prestigious and important causes.
Please go to our team’s special fundraising site and make a donation. Feel free to pass this message on to anyone else who would like to support Seventh Point in this worthy project.
Thank you for your support,
Team Seventh Point
